Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour.

Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures. I live in York so always enjoyed days out at the Coast. Many memories of Runswick Bay from my childhood and more recently with my own children. This is one of a series of paintings of the Yorkshire Coast from Saltburn all the way down to Hornsea.

Title or Location: Island Sunset
This 9x12 watercolor was inspired by a photograph of the Turks and Caicos Islands at sunset where she was recently visiting. Plam trees dominate tge scene overlaying the bushes with a peek of the cabanas and calm ocean in the background. You see the sky at sunset with dark rainclouds on the horizon. I painted this piece to exemplify atmospheric landscapes with both energy and tranquility,

Title or Location: The Marshes
This 9x12 watercolor is a depiction of wetlands typical of Georgia at sunset. It's painted in a loose and expressive style. A central blue waterway snakes through the dense green reeds of the foreground marsh, reflecting the golden light of the sky with gray clouds and a distant line of green trees in the background giving it depth and perspective.
